On the 8th of October my school usually hold a vegetarian fair. it is held annually, meaning it is held once a year. My school promotes vegetarian lifestyle by holding this fair. The fair was held to show that vegetarian food isn't bad, vegetarian food come with lots of variation and there are a lot of delicious vegetarian foods. I've eaten there honestly it wasn't bad, but it wasn't bad either because there are some foods that taste bad and there are some foods that is good, this is purely opinion, I may not liked it because I am not use to the food or because I hate the vegetable. the food come with a lot of style, traditional Chinese-Indonesian fusion food, Traditional Chinese food, Traditional Indonesian food and Western food, all of the food is vegetarian, so its a vegetarian food heaven or vegan heaven. There is Prata, Hamburger, Fries, Cakes, Dumpling, Meat bun, Juices, and more.
The food there is very cheap, all come with different price. I had buy a lot of foods. I had buy spicy fried rice, Lumpia (a traditional Chinese-Indonesian food), ice cream, juice, fries and oh luok.
Lumpia is a fried food filled with ground pork or beef, minced onion, carrots, and spices with the mixture held together by beaten egg. They may sometimes contain green peas, cilantro (Chinese parsley or coriander) or raisins But since it vegetarian they didn't put any meat instead they put some sweet and sour sauce and pounded peanuts. It is unique and delicious, I really recommend this food.
Oh luok is a traditional chinese food, its a fried food, originally consisting egg, batter, blood calms and parsley but instead of putting blood calms, they put mushrooms. I dont really like this food since I dont like the texture of the soft batter and the crispy mushroom but it is very unique.
The Ice cream is the most popular food even though they only have to flavor, sweet vanilla and fruity durian. every year the flavor changes but the quantity of the flavor to chose from is the same two. The food stand is full of people, Its no wonder after all, who don't like ice cream? everybody like ice cream.
The other foods is the usual, normal, its good.
They also sell art stuff, souvenirs that were made by SMP or what you maybe called as secondary or junior high school, correct me if I'm wrong. They sell key chains, Makeup box, Vases, a place to hold your pencils and a box to hold your phone while charging. All of them were made by students and the stuff is made out of unused wood, plastics and other materials, so basically they're recycling it.
The fair is very crowded, it is full of locals and some foreigners. The foreigners were mainly from China, Singapore and Korea. There are some of my friends' parents and my parents' friends.
Did I tell you that the worker there is actually the teachers and the students (who came willingly to help, they, the School are not paying them, they came willingly, so we are not using underage worker). If you come to the fair, you maybe have chance meet me...probably.most of the worker wore yellow vest, I'm not a worker so I didn't wear it but I do helped my friend, Muniaty sold it.
